HSE & Sustainability
Everybody goes home.
172 days without a recordable incident, which is every day the company has existed. Here is the program behind that number, and what happens on the day we lose it.
Health & safety
Stop-work authority is not a poster.
Every person on an Xtragate location — employee, contractor, vendor, visitor, first-hitch roustabout — has unconditional authority to stop any job for any safety concern, with no requirement to be right. Since the day we opened, no one has been disciplined for using it.
That is backed by hard structure: pre-tour safety meetings on every tour change, a written job safety analysis for every non-routine task, permit-to-work control on hot work and confined space, and mandatory well control certification for every driller and above.
Program elements
- Behaviour-based observation program, 12 observations per rig per week
- IADC WellSharp certification for all supervisory drilling personnel
- Weekly BOP function tests and documented drills
- Dropped-object survey on every rig-up
- Fatigue management: 12-hour tours, hard cap on consecutive hitches
- Short-service employee program with mentor pairing for first 6 months
- Full incident investigation with root cause published fleet-wide
Environment
Emissions, water and spills
Dual-fuel and electrification
14 of 18 rigs run dual-fuel or grid/highline power where available, displacing diesel with field gas or utility power.
Zero-discharge pads
Closed-loop solids control, steel containment and no reserve pits on any onshore Xtragate location.
Water recycling
71% of drilling fluid make-up water in the Permian district is recycled produced water rather than fresh.
Flaring and venting
No routine flaring on Xtragate-operated drilling activity. Continuous methane monitoring on all offshore units.
Spill performance
Zero reportable spills to water in the trailing 24 months. Oil-recovery capability on two vessels.
Wildlife and waste
Marine mammal observers on all offshore mobilisations. 84% of onshore waste diverted from landfill.
Targets
Where we have committed to get to

| Rigs on dual-fuel or grid power | 4 of 11 | 14 of 18 | 18 of 18 | 2029 |
| Recycled water share, onshore fluids | 22% | 71% | 85% | 2030 |
| Total recordable incident rate | 0.71 | 0.00 | 0.00 | Every year |
| Reportable spills to water | 3 | 0 | 0 | Every year |
| Voluntary turnover, field crews | 34% | 17% | <12% | 2028 |
Social & governance
The parts of ESG nobody photographs.
We hire local. 78% of our field workforce lives within 90 minutes of the district they work in, and we run a two-year floorhand-to-driller apprenticeship with a partner community college in Odessa.
Governance is straightforward for a private company: an independent HSE audit annually — the first was completed in August 2026 — a published code of conduct, mandatory anti-bribery training for anyone touching procurement, and an anonymous ethics hotline that reports to the board rather than to management.

Emergency response
Handled internally
Incident reporting, well control escalation and ethics reporting all run through Xtragate's own 24/7 operations centre and the audit committee. We do not publish external lines and we do not route emergencies through a website.
