Commercial Contract Drilling · Est. March 2026
We drill the wells
nobody else will bid.
Xtragate Oil builds, crews and runs drilling rigs for commercial operators onshore and offshore. Eighteen rigs. Five support vessels. Twelve Bell helicopters. One standard of work.
What we do
A drilling contractor, not a broker.
We own our iron. We hire our own hands. When Xtragate signs a footage or daywork contract, the rig on site is ours, the driller in the chair is on our payroll, and the accountability stops at our door.
That vertical model is why commercial operators bring us the hard scope: deep laterals, sour gas, tight pads, weather-exposed offshore programs and turnkey plug-and-abandonment work on wells other contractors walked away from.
About Xtragate
Capabilities
Six lines of business, one crew list.
Contract Drilling
Daywork, footage and turnkey drilling with AC-electric pad-walking rigs rated to 30,000 ft. Onshore and offshore.
Offshore Platform Drilling
Jackup and semi-submersible operations in the Gulf of Mexico to 8,000 ft water depth, fully crewed and provisioned.
Directional & MWD
In-house directional planning, rotary steerable systems, real-time MWD/LWD telemetry and geosteering support.
Well Services
Completions support, workovers, fishing, coiled tubing, casing running and plug-and-abandonment programs.
Marine Logistics
Five platform supply vessels moving fuel, mud, casing and crew to offshore locations on a fixed weekly rotation.
Aviation
Twelve Bell helicopters flying crew change, medevac and inspection sorties from three coastal heliports.
Concept programme
Introducing the Ironmark XG-1.
Our engineering group is designing a fourth-generation semi-submersible built around one idea: take people off the drill floor. Robotic pipe handling, a closed-loop managed pressure system and a 32-person core crew — roughly half the manning of a conventional unit of the same class.
The Ironmark XG-1 is a concept vessel. Nothing has been laid down. Every number on the spec sheet came out of our own eighteen rigs and the sixty-plus years its founders spent on other people’s.

Divisions
Four businesses, one schedule.
Xtragate is a drilling contractor that owns its own logistics. Each division below is run as a business in its own right, and all four are scheduled from the same room in Midland.
Onshore Drilling
Thirteen AC-electric pad rigs across the Permian, Eagle Ford and Bakken. Twenty-six hour pad moves and laterals to 20,400 feet.

Offshore Drilling
Three cantilever jackups on the shelf and two moored semi-submersibles in up to 7,400 feet of water.

Well Construction
Casing design, cementing, directional and the completions interface, handed over on a documented record.

Marine & Aviation
Five support vessels and twelve Bell aircraft, owned and crewed by Xtragate. Nothing waits on a charter.

Capability
What sits behind the rigs
Technology →
Automated pipe handling, managed pressure drilling, rotary steerable and hybrid rig power — each one trialled over twelve wells before it went fleet-wide.
Data & Digital →
Every rig streams to Midland at one hertz. Models run live, alarms fire on divergence, and a person reviews every one of them.
Quality & Assurance →
Four lines of checking, thirty-eight audits a year, and findings issued to clients unedited — including the ones that do not flatter us.
Operations →
Four districts run off a single schedule from one operations centre, staffed around the clock on a two-hour handover.
Our History →
Six months from incorporation to eighteen rigs, five vessels and twelve aircraft. Every unit ordered new. Privately held.
Media Library →
Photography from the districts and the full Ironmark XG-1 concept reel.
Safety
172 days. Every one of them.
We opened on 14 March 2026 and have not had a recordable incident since. That is the whole history of the company, which means we have no clean-up story to tell and no bad year to explain — only a record we have not broken yet. We are careful not to mistake a short record for a proven one.
Stop-work authority belongs to every hand on every location, from the toolpusher to the roustabout on his first hitch. No one at Xtragate has ever been disciplined for stopping a job.
